We at McGinnis have been in New Mexico since 1964 and have trained more that 245,000 students to drive.

McGinnis is licensed by the Traffic Safety Bureau and offers our students 30 hours of classroom instruction and 7 hours behind-the-wheel driving. Unlike the public high schools in New Mexico who offer only classroom work, we at McGinnis are committed to teaching our students with a hands-on approach to driving.

For the convenience of our students, we offer instruction in both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

If you are 15 years of age, or approaching your 15th birthday, it’s time to begin Driver Education.

The McGinnis School of Driving course is designed to introduce the student to the basic fundamentals, skills, and attitudes that characterize a good driver. This course of study not only teaches the student how to control the car, but also to control their temper, to be a defensive driver, and to learn to expect the unexpected, including DWI education and prevention.

We do all of the testing here at McGinnis. We are pleased to announce that we are able to give the New Mexico State Permit Test, and issue the permits here at McGinnis. We provide the New Mexico State Written and Road Test required for the provisional license. The only time you will have to go to MVD is to receive your provisional license. All the testing is done with us!
